Laurence S. Bolchoz Named to BDC Board

Longtime Grand Strand banker Laurence S. Bolchoz Jr. has joined the Board of Directors of Business Development Corporation (BDC).

Bolchoz has been President and CEO of Coastal Carolina National Bank in Myrtle Beach since 2012, providing executive leadership while overseeing strategic planning initiatives. He formerly was with First Federal in Myrtle Beach, serving as Senior Vice President and Grand Strand Market Executive.

He also worked at NationsBank and South Carolina Federal after graduating from Clemson University in 1986. Bolchoz is a graduate of the South Carolina Bankers School and the ABA Stonier National Graduate School of Banking.

BDC is a non-bank commercial lending company specializing in the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 7(a) loan guaranty program and the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI).

Created by the South Carolina Legislature in 1958 to help foster economic development and job creation, the BDC Board includes many of the state’s leading community and commercial bankers and the organization now is certified to lend across seven Southeastern states.
