Mike Crapps, President and CEO of First Community Bank, has been named to the Executive Committee of Business Development Corporation of South Carolina (BDC).
Crapps has been at the helm of the Lexington-based bank since its opening in 1995 and has guided its growth to 16 banking offices around the Midlands, Aiken, Greenville, SC and Augusta, GA, and to $915 million in total assets. The bank has long been active in business services and with BDC, and recently received the SC State Small Business Credit Initiative Loan Participation Top Participating Lender Award for 2016.
Crapps has been a BDC board member since 2009. He also is a member of the Federal Reserve Bank's Charlotte Branch Board of Directors and past board chairman of the South Carolina Bankers Association. His civic engagements include the Clemson University Foundation Board of Directors, Midlands Business Leadership Group, as well as in the past, Greater Lexington Chamber of Commerce, Saluda Shoals Park Foundation and the South Atlantic Division of the American Cancer Society.
The lifelong Lexington County resident is a graduate of Lexington High School and Clemson University with an MBA from the University of South Carolina. Crapps and his wife, Kay, have five children and four grandchildren.
