Mze Wilkins Named to BDC Board

Mze Wilkins, South Carolina President of Ameris Bank, has joined the Board of Directors of Business Development Corporation (BDC) of SC.

Wilkins joined Georgia-based Ameris in 2007 to lead its expansion in South Carolina, helping to lead its growth to more than $750 million in assets in the Palmetto State. She was with Bank of America for more than 20 years prior to joining Ameris.

Wilkins is a Darlington native and graduate of Columbia College. Her civic leadership currently includes board roles at Carolina Children's Home and Junior Achievement of Greater South Carolina.

"Mze is a richly experienced and accomplished community leader and banker. She has already provided many valuable contributions as a member of the Certified Development Corporation Board and we're excited to see her make the transition to the BDC Board," said Peter Shand, President and CEO of BDC.

BDC is a non-bank commercial lending company specializing in the U.S. Small Business Administration's 7(a) loan guaranty program and the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) and is associated with CDC.
