Greg Davis, director of minority and small business affairs for the S.C. Department of Transportation, has been named to the Board of Directors of Certified Development Corporation of SC (CDC).
Davis recently joined SCDOT after serving as small business development manager for the S.C. Department of Commerce.
Davis is a USC graduate and holds a certification from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. In addition, he received his Master Trainer Certification from the National Center for Construction Education and Research. Davis is a board member of Young Life-Columbia, a volunteer at the United Way of America, a Midlands Regional Advisory Committee member, and a member of the Minority Business Advisory Council of Columbia.
"I have spent my career in Columbia and I'm honored to be asked to help with the growth and development of more businesses in the Palmetto State as a member of the CDC Board," Davis said.
"We're excited that Greg Davis has agreed to join the CDC Board. His depth of experience in community affairs and business development alike will truly be assets to our organization," said Edwin O. Lesley, President and CEO of Business Development Corporation (BDC).
Since 1994, CDC has approved debenture financing for more than $374 million to more than 740 businesses in South Carolina. Total capital investment on these projects exceeds $1 billion, ultimately creating or retaining more than 7,800 jobs in the Palmetto State.
