Lawton has been in senior management and lending positions since 2000 at Provident Community Bank in Union, Park Sterling Bank in Newberry and most recently at First Citizens Bank in Laurens. There he managed commercial and small business relationships, including underwriting, risk management and lending.
Lawton is a graduate of the former Willington Academy in Orangeburg (now Orangeburg Prep) and has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Newberry College. He received additional education at the SCBA's South Carolina Bankers School in Columbia and at the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
