Business Development Corporation (BDC) announces that Peter Shand and Brian Hofferth have joined their lending team.
"Both Peter and Brian are talented and experienced lenders who collectively add 48 years to BDC's 147 total years of lending experience," said Edwin O. Lesley, President and CEO of BDC. "Brian and Peter's depth of lending experience, leadership acumen, and track record of success are exactly what BDC needs for our next major phase of growth."
Peter Shand is a 25- year veteran of commercial lending in South Carolina. He joins BDC as a Senior Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer, serving the South Carolina market. Prior to joining the BDC, Peter was employed as Regional Credit Administration Officer of First Citizens Bank of South Carolina and served as the Senior Credit Officer of the former Bank of Camden, which was recently acquired by First Community Bank.
Peter, is a cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and is RMA-Credit Risk Certified. He is also an instructor of Commercial Lending at the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado, located in Boulder, Colorado.
Brian Hofferth joins the BDC as a Senior Vice President and Credit Officer. He brings 23-years of credit administration experience with focus on private banking, small business and consumer lending. Over his career, Brian has worked with Wachovia, The National Bank of South Carolina, First Citizens and TD Bank in various credit administration roles.
Brian is a graduate of Auburn University with BS in Business Marketing. He is married to Beth and has two children Sarah and Clay.
